Chicago Aviation Headquarters

Chicago’s Department of Aviation had long suffered from a lack of office space, and decided to construct a modern administrative building in a former U.S. Department of Defense building adjacent to O’Hare International Airport.  The structure would not only house Department employees, but also the wide variety of engineering consultants that are needed to operate two international airports which combined make Chicago the airport capital of the planet.  Level-1 collaborated with a large team to verify the building’s existing infrastructure and design both a modern telecommunications network as well as address breaches caused by a terrorist attack.  As the technical consultant, Level-1 also reviewed proposals and made recommendations for other contractors.
