NAICS Codes
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) was developed under the Office of Management and Budget in 1997 as the standard used by federal statistical agencies to classify business establishments for the collection, analysis and publication of statistical data about the U.S. business economy. NAICS replaced the old Standard Industrial Classificaton (SIC) system and was developed in cooperation with statistical agencies in Canada and Mexico to establish a three-country standard that allows for a high level of comparability in business statistics.
