Emergency Management Infrastructure (Level-(1) EMI™)
Collaboration. Control. Communications.
Public safety and law enforcement agencies at one time operated independently. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 changed that. Lives were lost because firefighters could not talk to police officers, and port authorities had no way of communicating with the local sheriff’s police. The tragedy of 9/11, like none other, demonstrated the importance of enabling first responders to tap into radio frequencies and other performance-enhancing technology to share information.
Today, true interoperability is achieved through a public safety network that combines voice, data, video and wireless technologies on an IP-based platform, providing quick and easy access to mission-critical resources. Emergency management requires technology infrastructure that allows responders to communicate in real time.
